At Global Herbs, every equine product is built on a simple principle: 100% natural botanical ingredients, controlled through robust quality and traceability systems.

We do not use synthetic actives, artificial colours, flavour enhancers, or chemical standardisers. Our formulations rely entirely on whole herbs and plant materials, carefully selected for their traditional use and functional contribution to equine health.

Controlled Sourcing of Natural Botanicals

All raw materials are sourced through an approved supplier programme. Each botanical ingredient is verified for:

  • Correct botanical identity (Latin species confirmation)
  • Plant part used
  • Country of origin
  • Contaminant risk (microbiological, heavy metals, pesticide residues where applicable)
  • Compliance with agreed specifications

We regularly meet our suppliers by visiting the original source, that sometimes means we meet our suppliers in the field where the herbs are grown.

Materials are quarantined on arrival and only released once documentation and inspection requirements are met. Every lot receives an internal code to maintain full traceability throughout production.

Batch-Level Traceability

Our processes links:

Supplier → Raw Material Lot → Production Batch → Finished Product → Customer

For every batch we record:

  • Ingredient batch numbers
  • Weighed quantities
  • Production date
  • Operator verification

This ensures complete traceability and allows rapid investigation should it ever be required.

Working with 100% Natural Ingredients

Because our products are entirely natural, variation is both expected and respected. Climate, soil composition, rainfall, harvest timing and drying conditions all influence botanical characteristics such as:

  • Colour
  • Aroma
  • Texture
  • Natural phytochemical concentration

For example, herbs grown during a dry season may appear darker or more concentrated. Crops from mineral-rich soils may display deeper pigmentation. These differences reflect authentic agricultural origin — not inconsistency in quality.

We do not artificially adjust colour or uniformity. Instead, we manage natural variability through:

  • Defined specification ranges
  • Careful supplier selection
  • Batch documentation

Our aim is to preserve the integrity of the plant while maintaining functional consistency.

The Challenge of Responsible Natural Sourcing

Sourcing 100% natural equine-grade botanicals presents real challenges:

  • Seasonal crop variation
  • Weather-related yield changes
  • Global agricultural supply fluctuations
  • Variation between harvest years

When materials do not meet our standards, they are rejected — even in tight supply conditions. Quality and authenticity are not negotiable.

Our Commitment

Global Herbs products are:

·       100% natural

·       Free from fillers – just the good stuff

·       Fully traceable

·       Produced under documented quality controls

Natural does not mean uncontrolled. It means carefully managed, responsibly sourced plant-based nutrition — supported by systems that ensure safety, transparency and trust.

As a feed manufacture here in the UK we are also inspected by Trading Standards for meeting UK legislation, we had our last inspection Autumn 2025.  This is undertaken on a two to five year cycle.

At Global Herbs, natural integrity and professional control go hand in hand. From field to finished product, every step is guided by transparency, accountability and respect for the plant materials we use. Our commitment is simple: to deliver authentic, responsibly sourced botanical nutrition you can trust.
